The Pursuit of Happiness
I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes me happy and I realised that it really is the little things that sustain me. That rainbow coloured pen I found, the sound of Bumble Bees buzzing around the garden, the view from my bedroom window. These are the everyday things that remind me how blessed I truly am.
I have started sharing a photo of what happiness looks like to me each day as a way to record the little things that I believe are so important to us all. We are all so busy these days, it’s all too easy to miss the things that bring us joy. How often you stop and really see all that you have. I’m betting not nearly enough.
I’m reminded of the old saying “look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves” It’s exactly the same process with achieving happiness and joy in your life. When you remember to appreciate the little things you are actually training yourself to be more aware of all that you have in life. The big stuff becomes visible once again, you see your loved ones as the blessing they are, you smile with joy at your safe comfortable home, you notice the food you have in your cupboard and you become acutely aware that you have so much to be grateful for.
Start recording what happiness looks like to you. I guarantee you’ll be so happy you did...
